Some are incapable of recovering from hacking events and must give up, but others can pick up the pieces and learn from their mistakes and continue the fight.
Sky Mavis, creator of Axie Infinity, announced to Cointelegraph that the company had partnered with Google Cloud in order to strengthen the security of Ronin’s blockchain network and to pursue its vision of creating a rich gaming universe.
Google Cloud, a multi-year partnership, will serve as an independent enterprise validator of Ronin in a nodepool with Animoca Brands DappRadar, Nansen, and DappRadar. It will monitor validator uptimes, and contribute to the overall security of the network.
Viet Anh, co-founder and chief tech officer at Sky Mavis, stated that one of the main reasons for the collaboration was Google Cloud’s automated scaling and application deployment capabilities. He explained:
“These allow our engineers to explore new frontiers and delight users with immersive experiences that are interrelated, all while not disrupting active gameplay.”
Ruma Balasubramanian from Google Cloud stated that they will work with Sky Mavis in order to accelerate their roadmap and expand the Ronin network using a more secure infrastructure. Balasubramanian also highlighted the Play-to-earn concept by Axie Infinity and the other potential opportunities that could result from the collaboration.

Sky Mavis is working with Google Cloud to increase its security to prevent another incident such as the Ronin hack. In March, the Ronin network suffered losses of over $600 million. Sky Mavis had only nine validator nodes at the time of hacking. The firm stated that it currently has 18 validator nosdes and is working on increasing the number to 21.
