Binance has announced Friday its partnership with VARUS Ukrainian Supermarket Chain. It stated that cryptocurrency payments will be possible through Binance Pay Wallet for grocery orders.
With over 111 locations in 28 cities across Ukraine, the grocery store is the largest company in Ukraine. According to the company, this partnership will enable its customers to receive instant cryptocurrency payments and fast delivery within 9 cities in Ukraine: Kyiv (Dnipro), Kamianske, Kryvyi Rh, Zaporizhzhia Brovary Nikopol, Vyshhorod, Pavlograd and Kamianske.
They also announced a reward fund promotion, where customers who place orders from VARUS Delivery programs worth more than 500 Ukrainian hryvnias and pay Binance Pay will be rewarded 100 UAH.
Whitepay, a Ukrainian POS company and crypto payments provider, launched a program that allowed Ukrainians to buy electronics with cryptocurrency a month ago.
At this year’s Kyiv Tech Summit, held on September 6-9 in Ukraine (Ether Founder Vitalik) Vitalik stated that Ukraine could be the next Web3 hub.
Buterin said that a country can become a Web3 Hub if its citizens are interested in the technology and make major contributions to its development. “Ukraine has the ability and determination to achieve this,” Buterin said.
