Everyone is talking about the Ethereum merger: A new report reveals which countries are most interested in

CoinGecko released a new report that revealed the top places in the world to be interested in , the upcoming Ethereum Merge.

According to the data, Singapore was found to be the most interested country by a wide margin. Singapore’s score of 377 is almost 100 points higher than Canada and Switzerland, who tied for second at 286. The remaining five top spots were filled by the United States, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Scores were calculated by analyzing the frequency of ten search words and then combining them for the overall ranking. These terms included, among others, “Ethereum Merge”, “ETH Merge” or “Ethereum poW”.

Some terms, such as “ETH Classic”, “Ethereum Merge” and “Ethereum”, had special potency in Singapore. Users searched for “ETH” in Switzerland more than any other country.

Bobby Ong, Chief Operati and Co-Founder of CoinGecko, outlined the results. He said that global anticipation is at an all time high, with the Merge expected to take place in less than one week. It is expected to take place between Sep. 13-15, according to developers.

“The top 8 countries in this list appear to include countries with strong Ethereum communities. This could explain their high search scores in the study.

Ong says that the Merge of Ethereum from Proof-of-work to Proof-of-stake will “reverberate throughout the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem”

While the world awaits the Merge, the Crypto Twitter community is alive with anticipations. Many have high hopes for the Ethereum community.

Others foresee immediate consequences for Ether, the native network cryptocurrency ( ETH).

Even mainstream media outlets tried to cover the transition.

The event has been anticipated by developers, miners, and exchanges across the industry. Binance US offered low-barrier Ethereum staking. FTX, on the other hand, announced it will stop ETH deposits and withdrawals from Arbitrum, Solana, and the Binance Smart Chain during Merge.

74% had been ready for the transition prior to the Bellatrix upgrade on Tuesday, September 6.
